Counseling is at Our Core
At JFCS, we are passionate about strengthening families. Our dedicated counseling staff helps people navigate life’s challenges and changes through a client-centered case management approach. They help individuals, couples, and families improve their emotional well-being and realize their life goals through individual, couple, and family counseling and personal coaching. In addition, we host support groups and workshops on varying topics and are able to conduct psychiatric medication assessments and medication management when necessary.
Whether you are seeking help for an immediate problem, or just want to find greater self-understanding or fulfillment, our team of experienced counselors can help. Learn more about our services here or contact us at services@jfcslouisville.org to speak with one of our staff members.
We offer Counseling Services and believe in the importance of addressing mental health concerns, especially during a global pandemic, which is why we also offer Virtual Training on Mental Health First Aid. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training prepares participants to assist those experiencing a mental health crisis and will cover risk factors, warning signs, evidence-supported treatment and self-help strategies. Evidence shows that the need for this kind of training has increased through the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the American Hospital Association, “Today, experts are concerned that the COVID-19 pandemic is exacerbating the mental health of both those with pre-COVID-19 conditions, and those in whom the pandemic has triggered a new behavioral health disorder.” At JFCS, we are able to provide MHFA course training that, at its conclusion, certifies participants as Mental Health First Aiders. If you are interested in participating in our next MHFA course, use the link above to register or contact us at mhfa@jfcslouisville.org for more information.
