  • Business Advisor
    • Position:  Business Advisor
      Organization:  Jewish Family & Career Services
      Reports to: Director of JFCS Navigate
      Position Type: Full Time
      FLSA Status: Exempt
      Location:  Louisville, Kentucky

      The Business Advisor will provide business development assistance and marketing training to aspiring entrepreneurs in targeted population groups to start, grow and expand their business ventures.  Primary focus will be to provide support services and strengthen skill sets through individual and group assistance with business plans, marketing strategies, industry research, financial forecasting, and operational planning.

      The Business Advisor will manage clients/entrepreneurs to become ready for business financing through preparation of microlending applications and business modeling approaches. Through these program and training initiatives, the Business Advisor will cultivate long-term relationships with the new entrepreneurs. The Business Advisor will develop business training programs, including classes and workshops for small business owners to help guide their pathway to economic self-sufficiency. As part of the JFCS Navigate team, the Business Advisor will help create and maintain external relationships with partner organizations and community leaders through outreach activities and support services provided. 


      Education, Training and Experience Requirements

      • Undergraduate degree in business administration/management, communications and marketing or equivalent experience in a related field.
      • Previous experience in microenterprise development or operation of a small business.
      • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evening and weekends. 


      Qualifications, Competencies and Characteristics

      • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make presentations and conduct engaging and interactive training programs.
      • Experience with a broad array of business topics, to include business management, promotional and brand marketing, and financial forecasting/planning.
      • Demonstrated ability to analyze business trends and data to determine potential opportunities.
      • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage shifting priorities.
      • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
      • Bilingual a plus.

  • Case Manager
    • Position: Case Manager
      Organization:  Jewish Family & Career Services
      Reports to: Lead Case Manager
      Position Type: Full Time
      FLSA Status: Exempt
      Location: Louisville, Kentucky

      JFCS seeks a Case Manager who will conduct centralized client intake and assessment for all JFCS services. The Case Manager will manage clients from a diverse population of individuals and families experiencing crisis and assisting them with moving to stability. The Case Manager will serve on the JFCS Family Strengthening team and will report to the Lead Case Manager.


      Qualifications, Competencies and Characteristics

      • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field, Bachelor of Social Work preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
      • A passion for the JFCS vision, mission and values and a desire to help “repair the World”
      • Conduct client intake, share program and referral information and complete program enrollment
      • Provide case management services including concrete services such as assessment, eligibility determination, resource coordination, financial planning, etc.
      • Manage case load of clients including tracking, monitoring, keeping case notes and reporting on client progress
      • Collect demographic and outcome data of clients and complete reports according to schedule
      • Provide administrative assistance to clients on issues relating to completing insurance forms, securing government assistance, etc., including paperwork and in-person advocacy as appropriate
      • Network with community service providers and serve as a JFCS representative at community events as necessary
      • Remain current on general community resources and local/federal entitlement programs and facilitate client access
      • Maintain accurate, complete and timely client records handling all Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) confidentially in accordance with agency procedures regarding the security of client/agency information
      • Demonstrate sensitivity to different cultural, socio-economic and age groups
      • Effectively operate typical office equipment (telephone, computer, fax machine, copier, mail machine, etc.)
      • Effectively utilize general and program-specific computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite, databases, etc.)
      • Other duties as assigned

      Travel Requirement: Considerable local travel

  • Driver
    • Position:  Driver
      Organization:  Jewish Family & Career Services
      Reports to: Homecare Director
      Position Type: Part Time
      FLSA Status: Exempt
      Location:  Louisville, Kentucky

       JFCS is seeking a Driver who will provide older adults with transportation for medical appointments, errands, shopping and outings. The Driver will serve on the JFCS Homecare team and report to the Homecare Director.


      Qualifications, Competencies and Characteristics

      • High school graduate preferred, applicants should be 20+ years old
      • A passion for the JFCS vision, mission and values and a desire to help “repair the World”
      • Transport clients from designated addresses to appointed destinations as per daily schedule ensuring on-time arrival at destinations by researching and planning for traffic, construction and weather delays
      • Practice safe driving habits and follow all state and national safety regulations
      • Provide stand-by assistance to clients as they embark and disembark vehicle ensuring seatbelts are worn by all clients and assisting as necessary
      • Escort clients to and from errands and appointments as requested
      • Visually check vehicle daily for any damage or safety concerns, tire inflation, etc.
      • Maintain vehicle readiness ensuring vehicle is always fueled and ready for use as well as keep mileage records, maintenance and repair records up to date
      • Maintain communication with JFCS regarding any changes or pertinent information including staff of client concerns that could indicate a safety issue
      • Excellent navigation skills and proficiency using navigation applications.
      • Demonstrate empathy and compassion with older adult clients.
      • Effectively and safely operate motor vehicle.
      • Sensitivity to different cultural, socio-economic and age groups.
      • Assist with other tasks on behalf of Agency that involve transportation
      • Maintain accurate, complete and timely client records handling all Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) confidentially in accordance with agency procedures regarding the security of client/agency information
