JFCS Feeding Families Food Drive 2021 a Huge Success!
Thanks to you – our generous donors and community partners – JFCS is excited to announce that our 2021 Feeding Families Food Drive was a huge success!
From Rosh Hashanah through Yom Kippur, we invited our community to join us in addressing hunger in Louisville by donating food and personal care items or by making a monetary gift in support of the JFCS Sonny & Janet Meyer Food Pantry. This year we raised $22,000 in support of the Food Pantry from our generous donors, from community members through the Community Foundation of Louisville’s Give For Good campaign and from our long-time partner, Republic Bank!
Last year, JFCS distributed 78,735 pounds of food and personal care items through the Food Pantry to clients and their families – including more than 300 children and almost 100 seniors – who experienced hunger and food insecurity first-hand. As we grapple with the ongoing pandemic and as our clients and their families face new challenges as a result, JFCS continues to help them expand their possibilities by providing access to high-quality, nutritious foods and essential personal care items.
With the $22,000 donated in this year’s Feeding Families Food Drive, JFCS will be able to distribute approximately 13,000 pounds of additional food – or almost 11,000 meals – to our clients, their families and local community members in need.
THANK YOU for helping us continue meeting the needs of families, seniors and children who face hunger in our community!
