Volunteer will be asked to drive a JFCS client to or from an assigned destination in the volunteer’s own vehicle. Assignments take place directly through a conversation or email from the assigned JFCS staff person to the volunteer. Volunteers are asked to drive at least once each month if possible.
Volunteer must have an excellent driving record based on the results of his/her state criminal record check. Volunteer must keep a current copy of his/her driver’s license and proof of insurance card on file at JFCS at all times. Volunteer must be able to physically assist client in and out of a car and assist that client with his/her seatbelt. Volunteer must be able to walk the client to his/her destination.
Volunteer must attend a Volunteer Orientation and must receive special PALS training from the appropriate staff person.
