Volunteers make monthly visits to assisted living and nursing facilities to share a bit of Sabbath delight with the Jewish residents living there. The volunteer brings grape juice and a freshly baked challah for each individual and says the Sabbath blessings as well.
Our Pledge 13 students commit to giving a minimum of 13 hours of community service to JFCS organized events or through other organizations. This voluntary program is perfect for Jewish students preparing for a Bar or Bat Mitzvah.
Inter-generational Family Mitzvah events are scheduled four times a year. These fun family activites occur around Jewish holidays Rosh Hashanah, Passover, and Hanukkah. This program is a great way to teach young children about the importance of performing mitzvahs.
