Meet our 2018 MOSAIC Award Honorees: Seema Sheth

Seema Sheth was born in Louisville, KY to immigrant parents.  Ms. Sheth’s mother is Sudanese, and her father is Indian. She graduated from Kentucky Country Day and earned a BA in Theater  Arts before traveling the world.  While in graduate school she discovered her passion for teaching financial literacy.  After graduating with her MBA, she reconnected with her former teacher Chris Brice and joined the Northwestern Mutal team. “ I believe financial literacy is a real challenge for so many people. I saw a need to help people become more educated and empowered about their personal finances,” she told Insider Louisville in 2016. “I wanted to build a scaffold that gave people control and confidence when they go to bed at night.”

In 2017, Sheth started the Adulting Academy, teaches financial literacy and life skills. Sheth wants to prevent the age-old story:“You’re in college, you’re excited, they give you a T-shirt, you get a credit card, and you end up being 25-years-old with a terrible credit score because you didn’t understand how that worked.”

When she is not busy being a financial advisor or new mom, Sheth is hailed as a young adult leader in our community and now serves on the board of Metro United Way, Actors Theatre and Kentucky Country Day. She also is involved with the Junior League, YPAL, Young Professionals Opera Patrons and Girls IdeaFestival.

Please join us on May 17th at the Omni Hotel for the 2018 MOSAIC Awards, a dinner event recognizing new or first-generation immigrants and refugees who are making a significant contribution to their profession and our local and global community.  Seema Sheth and the other honorees will receive the MOSAIC Award, which symbolizes Multicultural Opportunities for Success and Achievement In our Community.
