Anoosh Shariat was born in Iran, raised in Germany, educated in Texas, Shariat has been wowing diners at various stops in Louisville for almost 30 years. He began his culinary career at the young age of 14 while attending high school in West Germany. In 1988, he moved to Louisville as executive chef of Remington’s, where he made a name for himself utilizing his diverse knowledge of European, Middle East, and Southwestern cuisine.
He is recognized as a “Best Chef” honor by Louisville Magazine, and his food has been described as a “flawless delight” by The Courier-Journal. He was the first chef from Kentucky to appear on the Food Network and has been featured in Food Arts, USA Today, Gourmet, Food and Wine, The New York Daily News and Southern Living. He has lent his name and culinary talents to a variety of charity events, including Norton Children’s Hospital, FEAT, Gilda’s Club, The Healing Place, American Cancer Society, CASA, March of Dimes, MS Gala, and many others.
