Today’s post brought to you by Jenny Schinke, Counseling Services.
The Diabetes Management group meets on the third Monday of each month at Jewish Family and Career Services. This group is for individuals with either Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, newly diagnosed or a “veteran,” and is a chance for people to talk, exchange tips, and discuss living with diabetes.
In addition to the monthly group, there are several upcoming local events that may interest individuals living with diabetes:
Thursday, September 30, 2010: Free Preventative Foot Care for Diabetes Seminar, 6-7:30 pm at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Indiana
Baptist Hospital East has ongoing diabetes education programs, including nutritional information and classes for newly-diagnosed diabetics.
Jewish Hospital and St. Mary’s Healthcare also have ongoing diabetes education programs led by a certified diabetes educator.
Don’t forget, the agency will be closed this Thursday and Friday in observance of Sh’mini Atzereth, to return in full effect next week with the regular schedule! See you then!
