The year has turned, and even though the weather has been bitterly cold, we aren’t hibernating. We have many exciting things coming up that we can’t wait to share with you!
Our Director of Development and Marketing, Beverly Bromley, is featured in this month’s issue of Today’s Woman. She had fun with her interview, and of course she found a way to bring up our signature event, the MOSAIC Awards. Check out her profile on page 6!
Our next ACT Preparation Workshop begins on January 13. This session has been particularly popular, so the class is already filled. Fear not; we should set dates for our next session soon.
Both Job Seekers Resource Group and Employment Search Jumpstart will begin anew on January 13. If you are on the search for new employment, one of these workshops could really make a difference for you. Follow the link for more details.
The JFCS Food Pantry is in need of some new items for January. Mayonnaise, snack sized raisins/crackers/chips, spaghetti and sauce, cold and hot cereal, and toilet paper would all be appreciated very much by our clients. Please remember that all donated items must arrive in their original packaging, and that we are only able to accept food items within their expiration dates.
Wednesday’s Child is holding an Adoption Fair at U of L Shelby Campus on Sunday, January 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. JFCS, along with many local adoption agencies, will be there to discuss the adoption services that are available in our community. Click here for more details.
We will hold our first-ever Bagels and Bingo event to benefit the JFCS Food Pantry on Sunday, February 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. A can of food buys your entry to the breakfast-for-dinner buffet, and bingo cards cost one can of food per card. We will also raffle a Verisimo coffee system and gift basket by Starbucks. Reservations are needed, and seats are going quickly, so check our site for the full details.
