Help fill Thanksgiving bags at JFCS!

Today’s blog written by Kim Toebbe, Volunteer Coordinator

Come to JFCS on Friday, November 16, beginning at 9 AM until we are done, to fill Thanksgiving bags for less-fortunate Louisvillians.  Volunteers will organize the food, fill bags and put bags into hallways for case worker and client pick-up.  Even if you are unable to lift, you can sit and check dates on incoming food or pre-open paper bags to hand out to volunteers.  There will be plenty to do so come on down!

Some Louisville residents will have no turkey dinner at Thanksgiving unless they receive the food JFCS provides.  Donations continue to pour in and donors prepare to purchase turkeys for needy families who would otherwise do without.  For many families this food insecurity is transient or temporary but for some, especially seniors and the disabled they really count on the generosity of JFCS donations year after year.  Many thanks to all who have donated.
