Frankly: Friday Updates

Hopefully everyone had a great Valentine’s Day yesterday. We had some sweet treats here, so even at work the JFCS staff had a chocolate or two. Here’s what else we got up to:

-The Job Seekers Resource Group has dates scheduled for a new cycle.  Beginning March 11, you can learn basic job search skills from an experienced career advisor. There is a $10 one-time materials fee. If you’re feeling a little stalled out in your job hunt, this could be the ticket. For more information contact Andrea Goins at (502) 452-6341 ext. 246.

– The Marketing and Development department has the February enewsletter scheduled for today! Keep an eye on your inbox, and if you aren’t subscribed, shoot an email over to Beverly Bromley and change that 🙂

-Next week join us for an Employer Spotlight, featuring Brown-Forman. That’s February 21 (Thursday) at 3:30 PM, and it’s FREE to attend. Find out what the hiring process is, and what it’s like to work for Brown-Forman, straight from their HR department. To RSVP, contact Andrea Goins at 452-6341 ext. 246.

-The M&D department also spent some of the week prepping the Baskets of Blessings centerpieces for an event this weekend, and they turned out beautifully, all different shades of blue ribbons and flowers. Contact JFCS at (502) 452-6341 to reserve your Baskets of Blessings – we have the bow making down to a science 🙂

-Finally, as yesterday’s blog mentioned, the Navigate Enterprise Center is starting a new program to train refugee women to become registered childcare providers – but we need your help! Donate your time as a volunteer, or join in our supply scavenger hunt, and help jumpstart a new life for someone.

Okay, that’s the week at JFCS! Have a fun and safe weekend, and we’ll meet you back here for Things You Might Not Know About JFCS on Tuesday.
