Flustered Friday Updates!

There’s so much coming up, here at JFCS, that the Marketing Department is a little bit swamped getting ready for all of it. Phew! Here’s the scoop:

-We may be busy busy busy, but you don’t have to stress. Chill out with a new series of workshops called Controlling Worry.  Learn new ways to manage your anxiety, beginning on April 8 for five sessions. To register, contact Lauren Kehr, LCSW at (502)452-6341 ext. 227.

-Last call for the Family Mitzvah Passover event! That’s this Sunday, March 17, 1:30 – 3 PM (Which is also St. Patrick’s Day! Wear green just in case…). Bring the family and enjoy an afternoon of Passover arts and crafts! Our Mitzvah project is to help organize Passover food baskets to be distributed to those in need. Please bring food donations for the JFCS food pantry.

-Unfortunately, our final Grandparents Raising Grandchildren’s How to Compute: Understanding Your Grandkids’ Technology session has been cancelled. Apologies for any inconvenience! As always, our regular Grandparents/Relatives Raising Grandkids (adults only sessions) meets at JFCS on the third Monday of each month at 2 PM.

-Our Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group will be changing. As of May, this group will meet on the second Friday of each month. Please plan accordingly.

Help JFCS meet the Feinstein Challenge! The Feinstein Foundation will divide $1 million among hunger-fighting agencies nationwide to help raise funds during March and April 2013; all donations during this period to the JFCS Food Pantry of food, canned goods and grocery gift cards, as well as monetary donations to the Sonny & Janet Meyer Family Food Pantry Fund, will be matched as part of the Feinstein Challenge to Fight Hunger. Take part and help make a difference in your community with this great program!

- ACT Prep Classes are scheduled for May 6-June 4. These are held Mondays and Tuesdays, for eight sessions at 7-9 PM. For more information and to register, contact Janet Poole at (502) 452-6341 ext. 222.

Take heart! Winter is ending next week: the first day of spring is Wednesday March 20.
