First March Friday Updates

Kick off March with your JFCS weekly roundup! Here’s what’s going on:

-The Family Mitzvah Passover event is coming up! Join us Sunday, March 17, from 1:30 – 3 PM for a fun family afternoon of Passover arts and crafts! Our Mitzvah project is to help organize Passover food baskets to be distributed to those in need. Please bring food donations for the JFCS food pantry. RSVP by March 13 to Kim Toebbe, (502) 452-6341 ext. 223.

- The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Sessions are running a special series titled, How to Compute: Understanding Your Grandkids’ Technology. The first session is March 7 at 5:30 PM, covering “Computer 101″. Following sessions will cover internet safety and educational sites and tools. Join the group at Cochran Elementary, on 500 w. Gaulbert Avenue. Childcare is provided, but please RSVP with Jo Ann Kalb at 452-6341 ext. 335.  As always, our regular Grandparents/Relatives Raising Grandkids (adults only sessions) meets at JFCS on the third Monday of each month at 2 PM.

-If you’re feeling nervous, JFCS has you covered with a new series of workshops called Controlling Worry.  Come learn new ways to manage your anxiety, beginning on April 8, and get some peace of mind! To register, contact Lauren Kehr, LCSW at (502)452-6341 ext. 227.

-Finally, a new month means new ways to help the less fortunate. During March, the JFCS food pantry is especially in need of pancake mix, pancake syrup, hot cereals, snack sized items (like raisins, granola bars, chips), juice boxes, spaghetti sauce, shampoo, conditioner. All donated food must be in its original packaging. Please do not donate expired items. For more information, please contact Kim Toebbe (502) 452-6341 ext. 103
