This week at JFCS has been a bit of a blur, as yours truly has been out sick for most of it (hence, the lack of TYMNK on Tuesday). The agency goes on though, and there are still things to report!
–JFCS is taking part in the Feinstein Challenge (you can read more about it in yesterday’s blog). The Feinstein Foundation will divide $1 million among hunger-fighting agencies nationwide to help raise funds during March and April 2013; all donations during this period to the JFCS Food Pantry of food, canned goods and grocery gift cards, as well as monetary donations to the Sonny & Janet Meyer Family Food Pantry Fund, will be matched as part of the Feinstein Challenge to Fight Hunger! Be a part of this great fundraiser!
-Dates for the next session of ACT Prep Classes are scheduled for May 6-June 4. These are held Mondays and Tuesdays, for eight sessions at 7-9 PM. Register SOON if you want to get your ACT game in gear! For more information and to register, contact Janet Poole at (502) 452-6341 ext. 222.
-Finally, our Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Sessions are going to begin a special series titled, How to Compute: Understanding Your Grandkids’ Technology. The first session is March 7 at 5:30 PM, and it’s going to cover “Computer 101”. Join the group at Cochran Elementary, on 500 w. Gaulbert Avenue. Childcare is provided, but please RSVP with Jo Ann Kalb at 452-6341 ext. 335.  As always, our regular Grandparents/Relatives Raising Grandkids (adults only sessions) meets at JFCS on the third Monday of each month at 2 PM.
That’s all for this week…now if you’ll excuse me, I think I have a date with some vitamin C. (Stay well, everybody!)
