Crowne Plaza is currently recruiting for a Lead Steward. This is a full-time position.
Supervise, train, and inspect the performance of assigned stewarding staff. Assist where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests. Ability to enforce hotel standards, policies, procedures with assigned staff. Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments and delegate work. Ability to direct performance of assigned staff and follow-up with correction when needed. Ability to motivate staff and maintain a cohesive team. Ability to be a clear thinker in pressure situations and exercise good judgment. Ability to work without direct supervision. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment and machinery. Certification in sanitation. Inspects all kitchens, store rooms, and equipment conditions and reports to the Executive Chef. Inspects sanitation in all areas including the front and the back of the house. Maintains monthly inventory of china, glass, and silver. Maintains monthly inventory of chemicals. Researches new / or replacement products. Responsible for setting up and breaking down banquet functions (buffets and receptions). Washes and stores dishes, trays, utensils, cups, and small equipment properly for the department. Helps cooks and chefs in plating up food and running food for buffets. Supervises and trains stewarding staff. Completes administrative duties such as scheduling, vacations, and managing payroll functions for the staff. Supports the Crowne Plaza hallmarks and standards.
Previous Supervisory, Stewarding, and / or kitchen experience desired. Basic computer knowledge desired.
