Happy Thursday! Today we have some news from Helen Hord, our HomeCare Opportunities Program Case Manager:
HOP trainees recently have spent volunteer hours at the agency mentoring refugees in computer usage. It has been a great experience for both parties.
Awaudia Daw (pictured above), an immigrant from Sudan, is currently participating in the HOP training program. She has been living in the U.S. for 11 years. On February 18th she will be be an offical U.S. citizen. Congratulations!
If you’re wondering what Homecare Opportunities Program is all about, it provides non-medical homecare aides for seniors at a reduced cost. It also offers training for aides, giving them the tools they need to become successful employees, both with HOP and in their future career.
Also, take note! The Knit Night has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 10 at 5:30.
